2007 Rôtie Cellars Southern Blend (93 pts)

(USA, Washington, Columbia Valley, Walla Walla Valley) $35
Very impressive and one of the top Châteauneuf-du-Pape blends coming out of Walla Walla, the 2007 Rôtie Cellars Southern Blend is a mix of 55% Grenache, 35% Syrah and 10% Mourvèdre that‟s aged all in 2nd year barrels. The wine offers fantastic aromatics of spiced blackberries, licorice, aged meat and mocha that are wrapped around solid underlying minerality and earth notes. On the palate, it‟s medium to full bodied with impressive fruit, fresh acidity, and a rocking, savory texture that carries into a long, clean finish. Outstanding and an awesome value, this should drink beautifully over the next 10 to 12 years. (93 pts.)

2007 Rôtie Cellars Northern Blend (91+ pts)

(USA, Washington, Columbia Valley, Walla Walla Valley) $35
A blend of 97% Syrah that‟s co-fermented with 3% Viognier, the 2007 Rôtie Cellars Northern Blend has a vibrant, deep purple color as well as pure, focused aromatics of blackberry and raspberry fruits, freshly cracked black pepper, pen ink, violets and edgy minerality. This expands in the glass and purity of fruit is certainly notable. In the mouth, it is medium to full bodied with a superb, silky texture, fresh acidity, fine tannin and an overall elegant, balanced demeanor. Very pretty, pure and clean, I recommend drinking over the following 10 to 12 years. (91+ pts.)

2008 Rôtie Cellars Southern White (88 pts)

(USA, Washington, Columbia Valley, Walla Walla Valley) $25
The 2008 Rôtie Cellars Southern White is a blend of 50% Viognier and 50% Roussanne that was 100% Tank Fermented. The wine has ripe, upfront and boisterous aromatics of tropical fruits, ripe peaches, baking spices, black licorice and white flowers. These lead into a full bodied, round, ripe palate that has tons of fruit, decent acidity, a slightly oily texture and a long, lingering finish. Drink this full flavored white over the next 2 to 3 years. (88 pts.)
