Walla Walla, Minnick and Stillwater Creek grapes make up this Blend. Counter-intuitively Syrah Co-fermented with Viognier helps color extraction. As a result, the Syrah is dark and gripping.

Walla Walla and Columbia Valley Stillwater Creek grapes make up this blend. For this blend, Syrah is co-fermented with Viognier, meaning that these two varietals are fermented together.  This technique has been used for centuries in Northern Rhone.  The Viognier adds florals to the nose, as well as balancing the wine structurally.  As a result, the Northern Blend is layered with elegant florals and dense dark lingering tannins. Rotie Cellars will never fine or filter our reds.

Varietals:

97% Syrah, 3% Viognier

Tasting Notes:

Dark color, intense dark berry nose with minerals, violets, and rose petals.  Mouthfeel is pure, chewy, and focused with layers of boysenberry, licorice, cola, tobacco and bittersweet chocolate.  Long-lasting minerality in the finish.
