Semi opaque ruby-crimson colored, this wine emits intoxicating, perfumed aromas of blackberry, raspberry, mountain blueberry, black currant, crushed black roses, pipe tobacco, lavender, sandalwood, sagebrush and wild violets. The flavors are simultaneously powerful and refined, with layers of black and blue fruits that are infused with black licorice, 85% cacao, French press and basalt and cobblestone mineral. The back is exceedingly deep and rich, with sensations of macerated fruits, roasted walnuts, mocha, crème de cassis, charcuterie and ground charcoal, followed by a lingering, firm yet sweet tannin finish. - Rand Sealy 20/20 points.
